Georgia public health nurses oral history collection, 1986-1991.

The collection consists of oral history interviews with Georgia public health nurses conducted by Margaret Parsons from 1986-1991, including audiotapes containing recordings of thirty-three interviews, computer disks containing transcriptions of the interviews, and case files of the project. The interviews were mostly conducted with nurses in the Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia areas. The collection highlights nursing as one of the few vocational options open to women during the mid-twentieth century and includes information on their training, education, and employment.
